Celine with Random Act of Kindness today.. :)

I spend my cold Sunday morning with this event today - Random Act of Kindness in East San Jose. Basically, we went to random people to ask them what can we do for them today.

We used the money which we gathered from our fundraising from Zen Lounge last night.  We have successfully collected 250 dollars from our kind hearted volunteers. Today, we have 70 volunteers attended this event and we splited in 8 groups. Each group went to different directions in the city.

In our group, we have $30 to spend. We purchased some ballons, gloves, scarf, and pay for others laundry randomly. We even offered to pay someone pizza for lunch and they were speechless.

We approached random people and introduce them about our group and our purpose today. And each random kindness we did, we also gave out this flyer (as attached) to ask them to pay it forward/ past the kindness to the next person. Basically, we are trying to past out the message that "Be nice and kind to others"

We touched many hearts today. Many people were speechless, some were mad and scared and asked us "WHY are we doing this"? Lot of strangers asked us this question... " Why are you doing this ?, and i dont have money" . A woman told me that :" These day, no one is willing to give out anything, they only ask for monies, no one really care about others anymore".

I smiled and i replied to her that's why we are here to make a difference for you today. She hugged me.

We gave lots of smile today. And, i smiled and learned a lot today.
